FINANCE MANAGER

Description:

  • The Financial Manager is a full-time central support church staff member serving under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer.

  • The Financial Manager will lead and give oversight to the operational functions of the Finance Department and will directly influence the Finance Department's internal accounting procedures and efficiency. 

  • The Financial Manager is expected to live an exemplary life by supporting the Mission, Vision, and Staff Values of Christ Fellowship.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and provide general management of day-to-day church financial operations

    • Accounting​

    • Payroll

    • Employee Benefits

    • Insurance Property and Worker's Compensation

    • Taxes

    • General Ledger

  • Assist in all business-related aspects of the church

  • Assist with the organizational compliance of all local, state, and federal guidelines

  • Assist with the input and application of financial budgets as designed, and prepared; execute and monitor accounts

  • Assist Human Resources with employee onboarding, offboarding, and benefits management

  • Lead and manage the Finance team by setting goals, performing periodic follow-up evaluations, creating and maintaining a fun and productive work environment, and ensuring excellence and efficiency of the financial operations.

  • Provide cooperative support and resourcing when needed to all related entities (CFF, CFA, CFM)

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (a minimum of an AA degree in Accounting will be considered)

  • Five to ten years of experience related to the responsibilities of this position including experience in leading a department or a team

  • Nonprofit financial administration experience. Demonstrated competency in accounting database software and Microsoft Office or Google Suite

  • Work history in executive and staff leadership positions in a non-profit organization 501(C3)

  • High level of discretion and confidentiality required

It would be great if you have:

 

  • Experience with ACS Technologies Financial Software and Paychex HRIS System

  • Fluency in other languages such as Spanish and Creole
